Anya Tech Remote Care Smartwatch

UX/UI for Anya Techs remote care smartwatch is designed for elderly users. It provides an intuitive interface and accessible experience, specifically for visually impaired users, while maintaining simplicity.

The brief

Anya Tech tasked Bang Creations with designing an intuitive interface for both a remote care smartwatch for the elderly and accompany app, that is usable by both the end user (elderly individuals) and their career. Our goal was to create a solution that supports the independence of elderly users while giving peace of mind to their carers.

The challenge was to create an intuitive and accessible experience, specifically the visually impaired users, but maintaining simplicity with the essential functionality such as heart rate, body temperate, sleep and blood oxygen levels.

The bang

With a clear understanding of our users, we began by designing the remote care smartwatch interface. Our process involved multiple rounds of iteration, with user feedback gathered at every stage to guide improvements. Interactive prototypes were created in Figma, enabling rapid testing and refinement. We focused on ease of use, clear visuals with minimal interaction. Features like SOS alert, medication reminders and incoming calls were also a priority for the watch as well as displaying the users health information.

The smartwatch face was the most challenging part as it needed to include time and essential information on a small screen but still be accessible to all users. The design of the app came once we had settled on a few screen designs of the watch to make sure the app and watch were coherent in the design.

The result

The result is a clear and simple wearable remote care watch paired with a seamless, customisable app that provides carers with real-time updates on the wearer’s health. The watch includes three adaptable faces designed to meet different user needs, featuring large buttons, readable text, and minimal navigation to access essential information quickly. We built fully interactive prototypes for both the watch and app, enabling a smooth handoff to the development team.
