Bleach mixer

Bang Creations: Learn how we designed & developed a bleach mixer to be placed in Selfridges stores. Call to learn more

A row of wall mounted hair dye dispensers with brass pump spouts and clear domed tops, each above a cylinder of dye in red, yellow, blue, pink, green and purple.
A design board pairing a CAD visual of the Bleach London branded dispensing kiosk and its touchscreen with hand drawn sketches numbering the customer journey: choose on screen, pick a vessel, dispense, add base, mix and label.
Close up inside the mixer of a machined aluminium cylinder held at an angle by a sprung clamp, above the green lit turntable.

The brief

After our success with Hairmoji, Bleach asked us to help with an installation in Selfridges. The space would be transformed into a mini Bleach ‘factory’ where customers could mix their own personalised hair dyes and make up. Dispensing the hair dye and mixing it without touching the dye was the biggest challenge, and removing the need to clean/dispose of parts between mixings to prevent colour contamination.

The bang

Our solution was to mix the dye in the bottle using a shaking mechanism. The units didn’t just have to function well, they also had to look great and show off Bleach’s cool industrial style. The collection of machines are united by a stunning combination of stainless steel, brass, lime acrylic and chalkboard black. Exciting light effects and moving parts create a spectacle which attracts customers to the space and makes the experience of customising your own hair dye extra memorable.

The result

We created hair dye dispensers, and mixer; a glitter press and a lip gloss station, all for the installation in Selfridges.
