Kensa approached us to work with them in the early stages of the design of their new ground source heat pump.
They wanted concepts for a new next generation ground source heat pumps call the Shoebox NX. The product was targeted at smaller properties and suitable for the new smaller environments, such as flats, terraces and smaller spaces.
The brief was to create a premium product with a sleek, stylish aesthetic which could be be manufactured within their current sustainable materials and methods.
We looked all the brief and the needs of the customer and client from both market and manufacturing requirements. Then generated a range of potential visual implementations for the external surfacing of the product.
These were presented as lay flat sketches to optimise time and cost, then rendered to finalise visual aesthetics.
In this case, Kensa handled all the in-house engineering, and we provided the concepts and confidence that our ideas could be implemented. This project aligns perfectly with our mission at Bang, serving as an ideal opportunity to showcase our status as a B Corp and the types of products we focus on – those that benefit both people and the planet.
The outcome was a design for the Shoebox NX, which will help boost heat pump installations, shielding millions from unpredictable energy costs by replacing the need to rely on imported gas and instead using domestically produced renewable electricity.
The Shoebox NX is petite but powerful, super-efficient, small and sleek and has been bought to market by Kensa winning awards and recognition
This partnership highlights the importance of combining expertise from both sides to achieve the best business outcome.
