Our expertise

Over 80% of the projects we have worked on in the last 24 months are in production. We design, develop and deliver commercially viable concepts to market. Typically projects are delivered in 3 phases of development.

Design: For inventors and start-ups to gain interest and develop their business plans.

Design and develop: For start-ups and companies to have a market ready design to either seek further investment, or take the design through their own manufacturing channels.

Design, develop and deliver: For companies wishing to take the concept through production and to market through their own distribution channels.

Design

Evaluate

You can make anything, but only marketable products sell. For over 17 years we have taken our clients products to market in parallel with manufacturing and distributing our own products. This gives us a wealth of first hand insight into making a product marketable. We have a tried and tested process which has not only helped many businesses, but is recommended by the British Library to help start-ups and is delivered in a monthly workshop that we host there.

Develop

Detail design & CAD

Once the concept is defined, we have evaluated some rough scale rigs and are satisfied we have a strong concept that will delight the customer, we take the design into 3D and explore all the component parts. during this stage the design takes on its final form and operation.

Deliver

Industrial design

Our approach to industrial design involves developing an idea or concept, ensuring that every aspect has been considered and planned before production. We believe that industrial design goes further than how a product will look. Our product design process and expertise range from materials and manufacturing to ergonomics, form, sustainability, and business strategy. By keeping these objectives at the centre of our iterative process, we provide a service that delivers quality products, designed for their target market.

Mechanical engineering

Making a one off prototype is very different to a production run. Throughout the development phase we are always considering materials, their manufacturing processes and assembly. Often we work as a wider team integrating any electronics, mechanics or software into production ready handover package.

Patent and IP

What to protect and when? Is the most important question regarding IPR. (patent, registered design trademarks). For over a decade we have worked very closely with a select number of IP attorneys who specialise in different fields. We engage their services very early on, not just to search, but to help plan what can be protected and the strategy to integrate it into the development plan.

Prototype

Typically, we make dozens of prototypes during the life of a project. We do not start a meeting or design session without one. It is the most important communication tool. We have a diverse and extensive supply base cultivated over 20 years to deliver the wide variety of prototypes we design.

Electronic engineering

We work with our electrical engineering partners to integrate bespoke electronics into your product. We incorporate high specification electronics incorporating microprocessors, micro-controllers, and PCBs into stylish, well performing product designs. Ranging from electro-mechanical products to internet of things (IoT) connected devices.

Concept design

To ensure the right concept is being developed, several must be explored and evaluated. It is not a design exercise of seeing different styles and executions, it is a broader exercise in seeing how the product benefits the user, how it can satisfy everyone in the supply chain. The concept development process ensures we have explored every product solution to create the best user experiences and sets up the development of a commercially viable product.

Cost

It is one thing to draw up concepts, but designing a product that can be made to production cost targets is a different ball game. We work with our manufacturing teams in the UK, EU and in Asia, relationships we have had for over 10 years.

We also work with the established manufacturing teams of our clients. Always working hard to help design on cost.

Manufacture

We can work with your manufacturer or we can work with an accredited manufacturer from our network which operate in many industries. We will help you make an informed choice of manufacturer, selecting one that can offer a cost-effective service, with acceptable lead-times and payment terms.

Sustainable design

It is estimated that ~80% of environmental impacts are determined at the product design stage. (Ellen Macarthur Foundation)

At Bang Creations we take this challenge front-on, designing products with a low environmental-impact, using renewable materials, and sustainable product life cycles.

Safety Testing

To ensure the right concept is being developed, several must be explored and evaluated. It is not a design exercise of seeing different styles and executions, it is a broader exercise in seeing how the product benefits the user, how it can satisfy everyone in the supply chain. The concept development process ensures we have explored every product solution to create the best user experiences and sets up the development of a commercially viable product.

Production

With the preferred manufacturer on board, we can help you weigh up the production options to ensure you receive the best value possible. We will be there when the production tools are made and tested. We can also manage the outsourcing of manufacturing and often oversee the production process from beginning to end, closely monitoring the output for quality, consistency and punctuality and re-negotiating contractual terms if necessary.

Ergonomic design

Ergonomics also known as human factors is the science of learning about human abilities and limitations. Which is then applied to the designing of products and systems to fit the people that use them.

Employing ergonomic design practices can ensure good user experience with a product or service through safe and comfortable use. These experiences reinforce positive association with your brand and so adopting good human factors design practice is critical to the design of a commercial product.

Branding & Packaging

To ensure the right concept is being developed, several must be explored and evaluated. It is not a design exercise of seeing different styles and executions, it is a broader exercise in seeing how the product benefits the user, how it can satisfy everyone in the supply chain. The concept development process ensures we have explored every product solution to create the best user experiences and sets up the development of a commercially viable product.

Product photography

Product photography can happen at different stages of the design process. We use our network of talented photographers to produce photos for a number of reasons. Photos of prototypes can be used for kickstarter campaigns or an introduction to make an investment pitch. Then Later down the line, we can produce idealised images of production units for use in further sales material, marketing material and E-commerce. The aim is to accurately and attractively represent the product and give the consumer a glimpse into how their life might be better with your product.
