Bang Creations’ founder to address creative industries

Award winning product designer Stefan Knox, founder of Bang Creations, has been invited to share his knowledge of intellectual property and new product development, at a high profile creative industries event.

The free two-day conference, ‘Stimulating growth for the creative and cultural industries’, is being held on 19-20 November at the Google offices in central London. It is being hosted by event partners Google and You Tube, with the backing of the European Creative Industries Alliance, Creative England, Arts Council England and Culture 24.

The event will focus on funding, intellectual property and seizing online opportunities. Delegates will receive advice on accessing funding and models for getting growth capital. They will then hear from experts in intellectual property.

Stefan will be joining a panel that includes representations from the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and British Library. The panel will look at how IP can be used in business and how to protect or exploit it. Overall the session will provide SMEs with the knowledge they need to maximise the value of their IP assets.

Stefan will be sharing his experiences of the product design process and the key considerations that need to be made when it comes to protecting an idea. Stefan and the team at Bang Creations has firsthand experience of the process, having designed and developed hundreds of new products, across a diverse range of sectors, which have successfully been taken to market.

Stefan commented: “Having successfully designed and developed many new products myself, I am ideally placed to talk about and answer questions on all aspects of the new product development process. Producing strong, commercially viable designs and ensuring you protect those ideas is a key part of the process.”
